We are planning an exciting all-new drive and event that we have never done before!
The American Eagle Foundation (AEF) has invited us to collaborate on a unique car show experience featuring Miatas as a part of their Wings & Wheels Car Show/Raptor Aviary Tour event. This event will bring together Miata enthusiasts for a day of automotive appreciation, conservation education, and community engagement, all while supporting AEF's mission of protecting birds of prey through conservation, education, and protection.
Please see the link and/or attachments for AEF's website, a copy of the official flyer for the event, and also two aerial photos of AEF's spacious parking lot and building. Please, please try to participate in this to show those "other cars" who are best in class!
WHAT: A MIATAS ONLY CAR SHOW with multiple prizes awarded, including a "FLOCK" membership for one person donated by AEF (a $75.00 value).
DATE: Saturday, April 5, 2025
MEET-UP TIME: 8:10 a.m. (drivers' meeting), with wheels on the road at 8:15 a.m.
MEET-UP PLACE: Calvary Knoxville Church, 3330 W. Governor John Sevier Highway (129 & 168), Knoxville, TN 37920
DETAILS: Scott Havlock will lead a leisurely drive from Calvary to AEF. We will plan to arrive at AEF around 9:00 a.m. to set up for the car show. You are not required to participate in the car show but may do so if you wish.
FINAL DESTINATION: American Eagle Foundation, 510 Kodak Road, Kodak, TN 37764
***CAR SHOW ENTRY FEE: There will be an entry fee of $25.00 per Miata to participate in the car show, but that will also admit ONE person for a tour of the raptor aviaries (including eagles, hawks, owls, vultures, falcons and more). Other guests attending with the show participant, and would like to join one of the tours, should expect to pay $10.00 (adults), $5.00 for seniors 60 and over, $5 for students 6-
18, and children under 5 are free.***
***Non-Participants in the car show will receive discounted tour pricing of 10% off the regular cost of a tour donation, being $18.00 for adults, $13.50 for seniors 60 and over, $9.00 for students 6-18, and children under 5 are free.***
***The $25 entry fee may be paid either by cash, Venmo ,or by check to Mountain Miatas of East TN, PO Box 181, Alcoa, TN 37701. Please indicate in Venmo notes that you are paying for the Car Show if you are paying via that method.***
***YOUR $25.00 RESERVATION FEE MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN AT OUR SOCIAL GATHERING ON MONDAY, 3/31/25!***
***IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE RAPTOR AVIARY TOURS! Those participants and non-participants who would like to sign up for the Raptor Aviary Tour MUST DO SO IN ADVANCE at: eagles.org/reservation/
At that time, they will also be able to indicate which tour time they would prefer: 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 2:00 p.m. You will not need to pay for the tour until you arrive at the car show.***
TIME FRAME FROM SET-UP TO DEPARTURE FROM AEF: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with awards being handed out at approximately 3:15 p.m., upon return of the last aviary tour.
We will be able to have a group photo taken with either Challenger or Lincoln (both are bald eagles) prior to the award presentations.
We will have the use of the restrooms in the museum, along with the opportunity to browse both the museum and gift shop!
There will also be food/beverage trucks and local merchandise vendors!
It is VERY important that you please RSVP by return email, on our Facebook page under this Event ( ), or on our website (mountainmiatas.com) using the convenient RSVP form below the Events, as both the Club and AEF will need a count of participants.
