There will be 2 routes we may use:

Route 1: Hwy 129S thru the Dragon to Robbinsville, thru the Cherohala Skyway, stopping in Vonore for Pizza

Route 2: Go Hwy 129 S to Vonore, Hwy 360 to Tellico Plains, go up the Cherohala Skyway to the top, turn around and back to Vonore for Pizza.

February 2010 marks the first anniversary of the formation of Mountain Miatas of East Tennessee! At this meeting we will celebrate the occasion with a BIRTHDAY PARTY at Puleo's, our regular meeting venue. Join us at 6:30pm for car talk and at 7:00 for the actual meeting and dinner. A brief history of the founding of the club, along with its past events and activities will be shared. There will be birthday surprises and special entertainment, as well. Join us and enjoy the fun!

Goose Creek Trail Magic - Overnight

Mountain Miatas will travel to Georgia to participate in Trail Magic for the Appalachian Trial Thru Hikers.
 
Saturday morning, (March 20th) we will leave Twin City Mazda at 6:30 am and head to Georgia by way of Tellico Plains, Duck Town, then by Hwy. 60 to Woody's Gap. There we will setup Trail Magic so we can give food, drinks, etc. to the AT Thru Hikers.
 
Saturday evening, we will travel 129s to Goose Creek Cabins for a pleasent overnight stay in a rustic setting.

Note: Those members unable to stay overnight may still participate by going down Saturday for the day.

For the pot luck, the meat and beverages will be furnished. Other items are as listed below: If your last name begins with A through G please bring an appetizer - H through R bring a side dish such as a potato or pasta dish, vegetable dish, bread - S through Z bring a dessert.

We will give out prizes for the dishes voted best tasting and most unusual [and "other reasons" we can think up!]

In lieu of Secret Santa gifts we will be participating in the Madam Miatas Christmas Project. The ladies are sponsoring a family in Sevier County whose home recently burned. They have two small children: A boy, age 7 yrs and a girl, age 3 yrs.

For the Christmas party we ask that you bring an age-appropriate [unwrapped] toy for the children. If you wish to contribute monetarily any proceeds will be used to purchase necessary items for the family's use and for gift cards to Kroger's, Walmart, Walgreen's, etc., for their future needs. The Madam Miatas will be coordinating the shopping, wrapping and delivery of the gifts, along with a food basket. [Date and time to be announced.]
