Once again we will be participating in the Gatlinburg "Festival of Lights" Christmas Parade.

We will decorate our cars for the season, lights, garlands, holiday delights!  This is such a fun event for those who participate as well as the thousands of children, young and old, that line the streets of Gatlinburg for this annual event.

The parade starts promptly at 7:30 PM but we will be meeting up in Townsend for the drive over to our assigned line up spot about 4-5 pm.  When we reach the line up spot, we all have fun decorating our own cars but helping our club members who need a little help or inspiration to finish theirs.

Driving in the parade is really a joy and a nice kickoff for the holiday spirit.  We should be finished by 9:30 -  10.  After finishing the parade and undecorating at Sugarlands Visitors center, plan on joining everyone for a late dinner/early breakfast at IHOP in Pigeon Forge.

More details will follow but put this on  your calendar, plan your decorations for your car -they don't have to be hard to install or complicated,  as we will be traveling slowly, so they should just be moderately stable.  And remember lights are required.  They can be battery or charged solar lights or plug into an inverter in your car.  Don't plan on throwing any gifts or candy to the kids from your car - it is prohibited.  Most of all, JOIN THE FUN!!!

Its a Parade! With lots of lights, lights, lights!

Use LEDs with an inverter.
Our slot is #52.  Look for the numbers as you drive east on East Parkway/321/73.  The parade begins at the Little House of Pancakes, so start looking for the numbers after this.

The lineup begins at 5:00 and the parade begins to roll at 6:50.  (moved up 10 minutes from last year)  Be sure to plan your arrival to include heavy traffic and time to decorate your car.  For those joining the run from Townsend, this caravan leaves from the Townsend Gateway Inn at 5:00 sharp.  Gathering begins at 4:00.

No throwing candy or anything else from the car!!

If you have an NA, you can roll your headlights.  This has been a great hit.

We will drive double file along the parade.

White gloves are great to keep your hands warm and to have folks see you waving.  Wear a Santa hat if you have one.

After going through town and the parade is over, proceed straight ahead through the Park to the Sugarlands Visitor Center to remove you lights and decorations.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

See you there!
