As you probably know the Club is sponsoring several families from Grassy Fork School this Holiday season. As in the past Lisa McDonald is heading up this project and has been shopping up a storm.

We hope you are all planning to attend the Christmas party and visit with Santa and enjoy exchanging Dirty Santa gifts. Additionally we are encouraging you to bring any last minute items you would like to donate to our sponsored families such as children's and adult's coats and jackets in new or like new condition, children's and adult's shoes or slippers (children's sizes 10-13 and adult sizes 1-7.5), blankets, towels, and any personal hygiene items that you think would be appropriate.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Lisa at (865) 271-8059. Thanks for participating in such a worthwhile event!

Club Events / Re: FRI 12/1 - GATLINBURG CHRISTMAS PARADE
« Last post by John Gunning on December 01, 2017, 11:52:38 AM »
Its a Parade! With lots of lights, lights, lights!

Use LEDs with an inverter.
.
Our slot is #52.  Look for the numbers as you drive east on East Parkway/321/73.  The parade begins at the Little House of Pancakes, so start looking for the numbers after this.

The lineup begins at 5:00 and the parade begins to roll at 6:50.  (moved up 10 minutes from last year)  Be sure to plan your arrival to include heavy traffic and time to decorate your car.  For those joining the run from Townsend, this caravan leaves from the Townsend Gateway Inn at 5:00 sharp.  Gathering begins at 4:00.

No throwing candy or anything else from the car!!

If you have an NA, you can roll your headlights.  This has been a great hit.

We will drive double file along the parade.

White gloves are great to keep your hands warm and to have folks see you waving.  Wear a Santa hat if you have one.

After going through town and the parade is over, proceed straight ahead through the Park to the Sugarlands Visitor Center to remove you lights and decorations.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

See you there!

Club Events / TUES - 12/19 WRAPPING PARTY!!!
« Last post by Sally Morgan on November 30, 2017, 08:42:38 PM »
In preparation for the Christmas Giving Party at Grassy Forks School on Dec 20, we need some "wrappers"  - no not the musical type.  We'll be wrapping presents for the families that we are supporting through the holiday season with gifts, fulfilling Christmas wish lists for the children, and some much needed basics for the families.

Please bring a dish to share for some treats - coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate will be provided.  Please let us know if you will be coming - we have some people who have already put their names forward. We'll start at 12:30.  and wrap til we're done!  Bring some tape,  some paper is being donated, but if you have an extra roll, we may be able to use that, and ribbon.  Oh and scissors!  We'll box up everything we wrap (I happen to have some packing boxes  :-)  for those who will be going the next day to Grassy Forks School to participate in the giving and Christmas Party for the families.

The wrapping party is to be held at the new house - don't show up at the old one!!!

Easy directions.  From  129S/411S - Turn onto Sandy Spring Road at the light at the Exxon Station. Follow straight through (it becomes Carpenter Grade Road at the light at Montvale Station Road) But stay straight to the 4 way stop at the Marathon Gas Station.  Turn left at the Marathon, go to 3rd street, turn left onto Raulston View Road (Raulston View subdivision sign is on the corner)  Make an almost immediate right onto Hartford and an immediate right onto Peabody.  Second house on left.

Ho Ho Ho!  Santa will be making an express visit to Barley's Maryville, Monday, December 11, for our annual Mountain Miatas Christmas gathering and Dirty Santa gift exchange!  We will be ordering off the menu, so folks can feel free to come at our normal gathering time, 6:30-7:00 to order your dinner (staggered ordering works well for the kitchen and pizza staff).  If you'd like to participate in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped gift ($15 limit) to place under the tree.
